Listen to what satisfied clients have said!
Dear Eric,

We thank you deeply for your wonderful music. It was the perfect ingredient for our magical day last June 25th. Many people complimented you to us, so it wasnÕt only the two of us who noticed! You have a special gift. Thank you for sharing it with us. Please use us as a reference!

sincerely, Elizabeth Ross and Jason Del Porto (Brighton, MA)

Dear Eric,

Just a short note to express our sincere appreciation for your musical contribution to our familyÕs joyous wedding celebration at the Duck Inn.

In just the short meeting with us you were able to capture the essence of what we hoped to achieve musically on this special day.

WeÕve added your recent CD to our collection and it will always serve as a reminder of the music you shared with us on that day.

Again, our thanks - sincerely, Sandra Fisher (Braintree, MA)

Eric Johnson provided the perfect music to match the atmosphere of our wedding reception. The entire process from scheduling to picking the type of music to be played went smoothly and could not have been any easier.

Caroline Rice Sain (Birmingham, AL)

Eric was fabulous. He made demos for me so that I would have an idea of my ceremony. He took control of the situation with very little instruction and in general made me feel that the one thing I didnÕt have to worry about was the music. His performance even in the rain was perfect and his musical selections were better than I had even hoped for. I will definitely be using Eric again on future occasions.

It is my pleasure to write a recommendation to you.

Amid the chaos of planning my wedding, I never found the time to meet you in person but I can say with confidence that you are a true professional. Your performance was wonderful. It really did make my ceremony unique in true Vineyard style. Your sound and style are so perfectly suited for Vineyard weddings.

I picked out a song from your sample CD that was beautiful, but must admit that I was a bit unsure - without hearing you in person - if you would sound as good live. Well, you were in fact equally as wonderful on that day. Music is a great way to cue the procession down the aisle. The use of music truly sets the tone for the day.

For me, music is so associative, and I am glad that I can pop in your CD 10 years from now and recreate my wedding in my imagination and in my heart!

Thank you. - Leslie Belkner (NY, NY)

I used to work for Music Management, a booking agency in Cambridge, MA.:

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to recommend the solo guitar and guitar duo services of Eric Johnson. For the past two years Eric has been a featured musician on our roster. We have sent Eric to play music at over 50 private parties and he has always done a wonderful job for us. In addition he has played a steady engagement for the past year, four days a week, in the lounge at the Boston Harbor Hotel. His musicianship and professionalism have made him a valuable member of our team, and we are sorry to see that he is moving to New York.

Sincerely,
Bert Seager

What the critics have said about my CDs:
The Boston Quartets
Cadence Magazine November 1997 Vol. 23 No. 11, review by David Lewis
Johnson is a sophisticated stylist in the Wes Montgomery tradition... His most inventive playing ranges from the spritely swing of Monk's Off Minor to relaxed blues inventions in the Miles Davis-Charles Mingus collaboration Smooch, or funky bop in Phineas Newborn's Sugar Ray, titles that confirm what a solid program this is. Johnson picks great tunes to interpret.
...All solid reasons to recommend this CD.

Jazz Friends Review March 1998, review by Karen Moore
...Eric is the consummate quartet guitarist...

The Boston Quartets
JazzTimes May 1998 pg. 153, review by Sid Gribetz

"Eric Johnson is a convincing, sweet, jazz guitar player. This album features him out front of two quartets settings. ... Johnson's guitar, which, while it can swing, aims for the softer dynamic of the instrument and more off-center harmonics that lend a pleasing touch."

By the Sea
Cadence Magazine October 1997 Vol. 23 No. 10

... I can imagine Johnson being the best thing on most commercial Jazz stations.
... his willingness to allow his rhythm section the freedom to play, and play it does with a nice swinging, yet always danceable looseness. And he takes advantage of that swing with some sashaying lines. His use of Luciana Souza's vocals is reminiscent of Corea's Return to Forever and Gondwanaland evokes early Weather Report. Here on Waiting For The Wind Johnson dares to engage in some collective improv with saxophonist Carl Clements.
This is proof that accessible Jazz need not be mindless.
